Pirates owner Bob Nutting has become Public Enemy No. 1 with Bucs fans, after trading away stars Andrew McCutchen and Gerrit Cole in recent days. Many fans are frustrated that the team is apparently in full-rebuild mode. They should know the signs the Pirates posted 20 straight losing seasons from 1993 through 2012, the Gio Gonzalez Jersey longest such streak in North American pro sports history. So while Pirates fans everywhere are sad, one fan has decided he's not going to take the team's fire sale without a fight. A fan identified only as "JK"has started a petition on Change.orgthat will askMLB officials to force Nutting to sell the team. After le s than 24 hours on the site, the petition had already collected almost Sean Doolittle Jersey 20,000 signatures (toward a goal of 25,000).The grievances the fan notedin the petition probably resonate withmany Bucs fans these days."Pittsburgh is a baseball town that is being destroyed by a greedy owner. There are so many loyal fans who truly care and support this team through thick and thin. We deserve better. I, like many others, endured so much pain watching a losing franchise from 1993 until 2013when we saw playoff baseball return to Pittsburgh. You could see and hear the pain we kept inside all those years being released that October night. If you have had a chance to witne s that glorious night, you know Pittsburgh is a baseball town. We've had enough! There needs to be change from the top of the organization down. Bob Nutting needs to Bryce Harper Run Derby Red Jersey sell this team, so that we can see a competitive baseball team year in and year out. It is obvious that he doesn't want to spend the money to make that happen. We need an ownerwho has a competitive spirit and loves the game of baseball!"Pirates GM Neal Huntington has carefully avoided using the word "rebuild" in Bryce Harper Cool Base Red Jersey addre sing the team's offseason moves. But the recent trades involving McCutchen, the 2013NL MVP and a cornerstone of the franchise in recent years, and Cole don't look good. And many fans are dismayed that the Pirates got midlevel prospects and young playersin the two deals.McCutchen went to the Giants on Monday for reliever Kyle Crick, minor league outfielder Bryan Reynolds (the Giants No. 4 prospect, according to MLB.com) and $500,000 of international pool space. The Pirates Anthony Rendon Jersey tradedCole to the Astros Saturday forpitcher Joe Musgrove, third baseman Colin Moran, reliever Michael Feliz and minor league outfielder Jason Martin. And more trades could be on the way. On Tuesday, two-time All-Star infielder Josh Harrison saidhe wanted to be traded."If indeed the team does not expect to contend this year or next, perhaps it would be better for all involved, that I also am traded. I want what is best for the organization that gave me a chance to be a Big Leaguer," Harrison told The Athletic.
